Fifth and final boat designed and built by Raymond L. Carlson of Massachusetts. Laura V was launched in 1982 and enjoyed by Ray until his death in 2011. Displacement hull is in excellent condition, heavily constructed of 1 3/8″ clear cedar planks with 2″ square white oak ribs on 12″ centers. The stem and keel are tapered 6″ x 12″ white oak. Decks are fiberglass over plywood.
The engine is fresh water cooled and was totally rebuilt in 1991. New electronics, gauges, and wiring in 2011. Includes a 1000 watt inverter and shore power set-up. Two 350 gallon fuel tanks with a fuel manifold and recently rebuilt Westerbeke 8 KW generator on board. Water tanks hold 200 gallons. Electric toilet with 25 gallon PVC holding tank.
