This stunning 16′ runabout was built in 1950 by the Peterborough Canoe Company, one of the largest producers of wooden canoes in Canada. Of the limited number of small Peterborough runabouts, the Speedster model was the lightest and fastest. The hull is a round bottom semi-displacement design. And the large open cockpit is equipped with two athwartships seats and two helmsman’s seats.
This particular Peterborough Speedster was purchased in 2009 by an avid wooden boat enthusiast who has loved using it on Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana. It has been lovingly cared for, lightly used, and carefully stored indoors when not on the water. This is a pampered boat! It is equipped with two outboards, a trailer, a cover, and all the amenities required for a fabulous day on the water.
LOA 16′, Beam 55″, Depth 24″, weight 230 pounds.
