BAGHEERA — This is a professionally built reproduction of a 1930’s triple cockpit runabout. It is cold-molded construction using multiple layers of marine mahogany plywood bonded and encapsulated with West System epoxy. The frames are clear, select grade Douglas fir. The engine beds/main structural members are mahogany. The longitudinal battens are clear, aircraft grade Sitka Spruce. Topsides are three layers of 4mm marine mahogany plywood. The bottom is four thicknesses of 4mm marine mahogany plywood. Both topsides and bottom are encapsulated with West System epoxy and sheathed with 6 ounce fiberglass cloth. Fastenings are silicone bronze throughout. All inside surfaces have been coated with two coats of West System epoxy and two coats of epoxy paint. All decks and the transom have ten coats of Epiphanes gloss varnish. Topside finish is three coats of primer and three coats of Sikens two part urethane, buffed and waxed. The power plant is a Mercruiser Mag 350 fuel injected engine developing 315 HP with a 1:1 transmission. Custom manufactured hardware includes: engine mounts, oil drip pans under engine and transmission, windshield brackets, cutwater, transom bands and exhaust tips. The dry weight of the boat is 3180 pounds. Speeds of 40 mph at 4400 rpm.
