Built in 1972 by Shew & Burnham in Bristol Maine, “Jubilate” is a Buzzard’s Bay 14, built to L. Francis Herreshoff’s classic design. Uniquely lapstraked of cedar planks on oak frames, the hull has the graceful lines which make this design so sought-after. Jubilate’s brightwork is Honduran mahogany, and her spars are Sitka spruce and include mast, boom, spinnaker pole and jib club. She currently carries a marconi mainsail and club-footed jib. Jubilate’s 900 lb. lead keel keeps her upright in heavy weather, and her steam-bent coaming keeps out the spray. Refitted with Bristol Bronze hardware, “Jubilate” received a massive overhaul in 2003 by Anders Langendahl in Greenport, NY which included replacing most of the oak frames, re-caulking the garboard seam, and replacing the transom. She has deep green custom-fitted seat cushions and matching covers. She is also fitted with a removable outboard rig, and comes with a Honda 4-cycle outboard, with low hours. A Triad trailer is included. She was sailed in Oyster Bay, NY from 1994 to 2004 and has been stored indoors since then. Asking $25,000.
