This sailing tender was built in the mid to late 1800's. Merchant vessels used this type of vessel to go to shore quickly in order to negotiate taking cargo before the competition. She is 14′ length overall with graceful lines. Not many (less than fifty) exist from this era because they are beautiful but somewhat fragile. The curator of a major West Coast Maritime Museum identified this tender as a Whitehall from the photos of her that he reviewed.
