Cruising canoe yawl “Eel”, designed by William Garden. Built in 2000 by Heus and Holder on Cape Cod. She harkens back to the cruising canoe yawls that were so popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. White cedar carvel planking on white oak frames, with white oak backbone. Dynel covered marine plywood decks. All Sitka spruce spars. All silicon bronze fasteners. Canvas-like Oceanus Dacron sails. Sliding gunter mainsail with roller furling jib. Ballast is a 450 lb. exterior lead casting. Two berths below with sitting headroom. No motor or electrical system. Comes with galvanized trailer and sail cover/boom tent. She has been out of water for a couple of years, but she’s still in beautiful condition. $15,000. Volante 42' Sloop Built 1936 by Nunes Bro of Sausalito
Volante was built in 1936 by the Nunes Brothers. Commissioned by Charles Langlais of the Saint Francis Yacht Club and designed by George H. Wayland. Her architectural drawings are housed at the San Francisco Maritime Park. She is 42 ft long (42′ x 10′ x 6′10″) and built as an auxiliary sloop. Her cabin sides and interior are made of teak. She won the Master Mariners twice, 1st place in 1986 and 3rd in 1989. She also took the Perpetual Dead Eye Award in 1989. According to the SF Maritime Park, Robert C. Keefe was reported as saying that “No history of the St. Francis Yacht Club would be complete without some mention of Volante”. 1968 30' MacKenzie Cuttyhunk Bassboat
The “Aimee Beth” is a very special boat. Only 20, 30′ Mackenzies were ever built. Only nine are known to be left today. This vessel is by far the best example. This vessel received a complete restoration from 2007 to 2013. It won first place “Power Owner Restoration” at the 2014 Wooden Boat show in Mystic. It won best Powerboat at the 2014 Antique and classic boat show in Salem, Massachusetts. This vessel turns heads in every harbor she visits. She will cruise at 15-16 knots and top out at 24.1 Knots.
